1) You believe that you own yourself. Wait, what?!  Who else would own you?  Or the product of your labor?  Well, another person might own you and your labor (that’s called slavery), everyone might own you and your labor (AKA socialism), or YOU could own you and your labor.  Let’s call this idea of self-sovereignty “natural law”.  Which makes the most sense to you?

2) Taxes make you angry. Ok, I’m sure most people don’t appreciate paying taxes, but let’s examine this a little further.  A fancy, yet accurate, description of taxes is state-sanctioned theft.  If the local thug comes and beats you unless you give him 30% of your income, we can generally agree that an injustice has been done.  By the same token, you get thrown in jail if the state doesn’t get its cut of your earnings.  In the second case, however, there is no outcry because…
